Which layout to print

Month

One calendar month per sheet, with boxes for days 1 to 31. Write the month at the top and start a new sheet on the 1st. It prints landscape.

30 days

Thirty boxes that start on any day you like, so you don't have to wait for the 1st. Write the start date at the top. It prints landscape.

Week

Monday to Sunday with larger boxes, for a week you want to look at closely or for a sheet on the fridge. It prints portrait.

How to use the sheet

Write the habit small

Write each habit as the smallest version you'd still do on a bad day, such as “Read 1 page” rather than “Read more”, so each box has a clear yes or no. For a cue and a plan for missed days, make a habit plan first.

Tick the day, count the ticks

Tick a box on each day you do the habit. At the end of the sheet, count the ticks and write the number in Total. An empty box takes nothing away from the ticks you already have.

Filled from the online tracker

If the online habit tracker has habits saved in this browser, choose “Filled from my tracker”. The sheet shows each habit with the days you ticked and its total days done so far; grey boxes are days before the habit started. The habits are read on this device and never sent anywhere.

Paper, browser or spreadsheet

A paper sheet can hang where you'll see it. The online habit tracker counts your total for you and keeps it after a missed day. If you'd rather keep it in Excel or Google Sheets, get the habit tracker template.
